At High Africa, school camps and corporate team building getaways are powered by expertly designed, action-packed adventure activities. Each experience is thoughtfully designed to grow confidence, strengthen trust, and deepen teamwork through managed challenges in a safely facilitated, guided risk-taking setting.
Safety is always our top priority. We maintain an impeccable safety track record and are widely regarded as one of the most safety-conscious and fully certified adventure destinations in the Western Cape.
Through a variety of stimulating and challenging activities, participants gain a deeper understanding of themselves and those around them. Our programmes are specifically designed to strengthen communication, cooperation, and leadership, while creating moments that are both memorable and meaningful.
All adventure activities are led and supervised by qualified, experienced instructors, ensuring the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and service at all times.
High Africa offers a range of group-oriented accommodation and camping options, including the High Africa Main Camp and Under the Blue Gums Camp, a tented camping area set on expansive lawns. These venues are ideal for school camps, outdoor adventure programmes, informal conferences, team building retreats, and private functions.
In collaboration with the River House Collection, High Africa also offers luxury self-catering accommodation, with additional accommodation available at each camp for teachers and facilitators.
This is the original camping area and offers comfortable en-suite bunk-bed accommodation for up to 80 people, with additional teachers' accommodation available in “Sugar Loaf”. The area also includes an elevated lounge and bar space aptly named “The Deck” overlooking the Breede River, as well as a boma and a conference centre.
This stunning and well-loved campsite comfortably accommodates up to 96 people. Safari-style wooden bungalows with bunk beds opening onto a lush lawn that stretches down to the river. The campsite also features a multipurpose dining hall, communal bathroom facilities, and separate teacher quarters with private bathrooms.
The River House® is an 8-bedroom, country style self-catering lodge on the banks of the Breede River, accommodating up to 16 guests. It offers generous living spaces, a bar, TV room, vine-covered courtyard, and a veranda with an undercover braai. Fully furnished, it also includes a pool table, canoes, a swimming pool, and full DSTV.
The Other House® accommodates up to 18 guests. Situated next to The River House® is this 7-bedroom, modern and contemporary style self-catering guest lodge, perched on the banks of the Breede River. The house also has a high-ceilinged lounge area opening up into a large veranda with an undercover braai.
This stunning luxury 3-bedroom guest lodge can accommodate up to 6 adult guests and is mostly used by teachers or booked out for small family getaways. The expansive gardens also include a pop-up tented camping area (only available for school camps), which can accommodate up to 60 learners.
We offer fresh, hearty meals prepared on-site, and we’re happy to tailor menus to suit your group’s needs and schedule. We cater for a wide range of dietary requirements - just let us know in advance. From school camps to corporate retreats, guests consistently compliment our food for being tasty, generous, and exactly what you need after a big day outdoors.
